Runway - My Way! Spring 2012

I am so tired of winter. I was inspired by some of the runways that I had the privilege to see in September and decided that I needed something new! I found these looks already in my closet!

At Balmain, the looks were so effortlessly styled that it was very easy to adapt clothes I already had. A denim shirt adds the perfect amount of ease and creativity to an evening look. I tucked it into my high-waisted skirt and added sparkle with a belt and a vintage clutch. Wear some black peep-toe booties and you're set. I love this look because it looks cool without trying too hard.

This season Charlotte Ronson's looks were very feminine with a carefree rocker attitude. I loved the short spring dresses with wedges and socks. I tried the socks, and it's definitely a runway look and not a real-life look. Also wearing a belt around your neck makes you look mentally unstable. So loose the socks and wear the belt around your waist! Done!

ADAM is one of my favorite designers due to his young, fresh and feminine take on fashion - and he's pretty easy on the eyes too ;-). His runway for spring was filled with pastels, whites, colorful shoes and a few punches of military. I am obsessed with this red jacket! The model looks straight out of The Nutcracker! I paired a white shirt with my black military jacket and some teal vintage flats for this girly look.

Another focus for spring, as seen in the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection, is the minimalistic approach. Pretty much no accessories, no prints, muted tones and color blocking.  I love the orange and purple pastel paired with a neon yellow bag. I chose my black ankle pants, a pastel two-tone top and added my yellow sandals for the pop of bright color. I chose a clutch of the same color as the top but in a different shade. This is a very casual look for day and just add wedges for night.

I really wish I had this metallic leather jacket from Diesel. But I don't. So I used my own black leather jacket and paired it with a very plain but girly beige dress. To mimic the strappy tie-on shoes, I chose my Michael Kors heels from 3 years ago. Yeah I still think they're cool. For the metallic look I used black and gold accessories (hence my Diesel Black and Gold look). This is definitely a rocker chic night look.
